Instead each one would use up one of the tuners from the pool. For example if both servers wanted to record the same thing on the same channel at the same time, they would not be smart enough to just share a single tuner. Unfortunately, there are limits to this approach. So if you had 2 Sage servers, each with its own copy of OpenDCT, they could be configured to share tuners. It can either fail the recording, or it can forcibly steal control of the tuner from whatever else was already using it. If no tuners are available, you can choose (in advance) what OpenDCT should do. Sage won’t know this is happening - it will think it is recording from the tuner it requested, even though OpenDCT may really be serving up a different tuner from the pool. Then when Sage requests to record from Tuner 1, OpenDCT will try to record from Tuner 1, but if it is not available, it tries Tuner2, and if that’s not available it tries Tuner3. OpenDCT can be configured to use tuner pooling. If you are using an HDHR Prime, Sage doesn’t handle that tuner natively anyway, so you are probably going to use OpenDCT anyway. However, OpenDCT is aware of this possibility and handles it more gracefully. It assumes that tuners that it has been configured to use will always be there and available and does not expect something else may also be trying to use the same tuner. Sage itself does not handle tuner sharing at all. This is mostly true, but not 100% accurate. That is the reason I use Channels DVR as a Backend to control tuners. Maybe someone can offer alternatives using SageTV but I do not see one unless you are willing to invest on more tuners. nor does It have Profiles to keep track of individual watched statuses. It was pointing to C:\Program Files\ComskipMonitor\comskip\ instead of C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\comskipīut I am not getting the CS logo to appear on screen in sage while comskip is running. The Problem with SagTV and 2 servers is that Sage does not Share tuners even with other SageTV servers when watching or recording the Same Channel. UPDATE: I found that the comskip.cmd file at C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV7\Externals pointed to a different directory. I put the comskip files in the c:\program files\sagetv\sagetv\comskip directory and even copied them into the c:\program files\sagetv\sagetv\commericaldetector\comskip directory to be extra safe.
#Sagetv comskip windows#
This had been working great for a few weeks and I haven't changed anything with my system beyond the normal windows xp patches that microsoft puts out.Īny ideas what to check? I turned comskip debugging on in the sagetv setup settings for comskip but no comskip files appear in the recordings directory which makes me think comskip isn't launching at all. I have tried multiple recordings without any success. Since then I have upgraded to build 35 of the donator version of comskip and have upgraded to Sage 7.0.20 but still I can't get comskip to run when pressing the Run Comskip button for a recording. I had been using the plugin that allows you to set times comskip would not run so I cleared those out without getting comskip to run and ended up removing the plugin completely. When I went in to manually set comskip to run, it would not initiate a run. I had been running build 34 of the donator version of comskip on Sage 7.0.18. I recently noticed that comskip no longer detected any commercials in my recordings over the last week or so even though the recording had the CS logo on it.
